Product Compliance & Legal Reporting: admin@gotorex.com
Gotorex may update this Policy as laws, regulations, marketplace requirements and product-safety standards change.
1. General Rule
Sellers may list and sell only products that are:
- Lawful to sell;
- Authentic and legally sourced;
- Safe for their intended use;
- Permitted for sale and shipment to the relevant destination;
- Properly labelled and packaged where required; and
- Compliant with applicable product, consumer, customs, tax and safety requirements.
A product being legal in one country does not mean it can legally be sold or shipped to every country.
Gotorex may apply stricter marketplace restrictions than the minimum required by law.
2. Prohibited Products
The following categories are prohibited on Gotorex, including products that are illegal, unsafe, counterfeit or otherwise unsuitable for an international marketplace:
- Illegal goods or goods whose sale is prohibited by applicable law;
- Counterfeit, replica or unauthorised branded goods;
- Stolen goods or goods obtained unlawfully;
- Products that infringe intellectual-property rights;
- Products subject to active recalls where sale is prohibited;
- Fraudulent documents, forged credentials or products intended to facilitate fraud;
- Products designed to facilitate unlawful activity;
- Unauthorised or illegally distributed prescription or controlled products;
- Hazardous chemicals or substances that cannot lawfully be sold or transported;
- Unlawful biological or medical products;
- Products prohibited by applicable sanctions or trade restrictions;
- Products that cannot legally be imported into the destination country;
- Products that falsely claim regulatory approval or certification; and
- Any other product prohibited by applicable law or Gotorex policy.
3. Restricted Products
Some products may be permitted only when specific legal, safety, age, licensing, labelling, certification, shipping or destination requirements are satisfied.
Examples may include:
- Certain cosmetics and personal-care products;
- Food and consumable products;
- Supplements;
- Medical or health-related products;
- Children's products and toys;
- Electrical and electronic products;
- Batteries and products containing batteries;
- Products containing chemicals or other regulated substances;
- Automotive products and equipment;
- Agricultural or plant-related products;
- Products subject to environmental requirements;
- Age-restricted products; and
- Products requiring particular certifications or regulatory approvals.
Gotorex may require documentation before allowing a restricted product to be listed or sold.
4. Product Safety
Sellers are responsible for ensuring that products comply with applicable safety requirements in every market where they are offered.
Where required, sellers must provide appropriate:
- Safety information;
- Warnings;
- Instructions;
- Manufacturer information;
- Responsible-person information;
- Certification or conformity information;
- Product identification;
- Traceability information; and
- Other legally required information.
For EU sales, applicable product-safety rules can impose specific obligations on online marketplaces, including requirements concerning trader information, product traceability, safety notices and recalls.
5. Counterfeit & Intellectual-Property Protection
Gotorex does not permit sellers to list products that infringe another party's intellectual-property rights.
This includes, where applicable:
- Counterfeit branded products;
- Unauthorised replicas;
- Stolen photographs or product descriptions;
- Unauthorised trademarks;
- Pirated content; and
- Products that otherwise infringe copyright, trademark, patent or other protected rights.
Sellers must have the necessary rights and permissions for products and content they submit.
Reports may be submitted to admin@gotorex.com.
6. Country-Specific Restrictions
A product may be permitted on Gotorex but restricted from sale or delivery to particular countries.
Gotorex or the applicable seller may restrict a product because of:
- Import laws;
- Export controls;
- Customs requirements;
- Sanctions;
- Product-specific regulations;
- Certification requirements;
- Carrier restrictions;
- Local consumer-safety requirements; or
- Other destination-country restrictions.
Sellers are responsible for determining whether their products can legally be supplied to the intended destination.
7. Seller Verification & Documentation
Gotorex may request information or documents relating to a product, including:
- Supplier or manufacturer information;
- Proof of authenticity;
- Safety documentation;
- Certifications;
- Test reports;
- Regulatory approvals;
- Product photographs;
- Country-of-origin information;
- Import/export documentation; and
- Other information reasonably required for compliance.
Gotorex may prevent a listing from being published until requested information has been reviewed.
8. Product Recalls & Safety Notices
Sellers must immediately notify Gotorex if they become aware that a listed product:
- Has been recalled;
- Presents a serious safety risk;
- Is subject to regulatory action;
- Is prohibited in a relevant market; or
- Has another serious compliance problem.
Gotorex may remove or suspend the listing, notify affected customers, restrict further sales and cooperate with regulators or other relevant parties where required.
For EU marketplace operations, product-safety rules specifically contemplate rapid handling of safety notices and preventing removed unsafe listings from reappearing.
9. Reporting a Prohibited or Unsafe Product
Customers, sellers, regulators and other parties may report a suspected prohibited, unsafe, counterfeit or unlawful product to:
Where possible, reports should include:
- Product name or listing;
- Seller name;
- Order number, if applicable;
- Description of the concern;
- Photographs or other supporting evidence; and
- Relevant documentation.
Gotorex may investigate and take appropriate action.
10. Removal & Enforcement
Gotorex may, where permitted by law:
- Remove a listing;
- Prevent publication;
- Restrict a product by country;
- Suspend sales;
- Request additional documentation;
- Notify sellers or customers;
- Hold or review related transactions where legally permitted;
- Suspend or terminate seller accounts; and
- Cooperate with authorities.
Actions may be taken where Gotorex reasonably believes a product violates this Policy, applicable law or marketplace safety requirements.
Where applicable law requires notice, reasons or an appeal mechanism, Gotorex will provide the applicable process.
11. Circumvention Prohibited
Sellers must not attempt to bypass Gotorex's product restrictions by:
- Using misleading product descriptions;
- Listing a prohibited product under another category;
- Splitting a restricted product into multiple listings;
- Using inaccurate photographs or specifications;
- Concealing the actual nature of a product; or
- Creating another seller account to avoid enforcement.
Circumvention may result in immediate enforcement action where permitted by law.
12. Returns, Refunds & Damaged Products
If a customer receives a product that is damaged, defective, incorrect or potentially unsafe, the customer should contact:
The customer may be asked to provide photographs, video, order information or other reasonable evidence.
Gotorex may investigate the product and transaction, including with the seller, supplier or carrier, and may inspect the product where appropriate.
The inspection and resolution period may vary depending on the product, seller, evidence and circumstances.
Any applicable refund, return, replacement or other remedy will be handled according to the Gotorex Refund, Return & Cancellation Policy and mandatory applicable law.
Nothing in this Policy removes a consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
13. International Compliance
Gotorex is intended to serve customers internationally. Sellers must therefore consider the laws applicable to:
the seller → the product → the shipment → the destination country → the customer.
For example, EU rules require products offered to EU consumers to comply with applicable product-safety requirements, and online marketplaces have specific obligations concerning illegal and unsafe products.
Gotorex does not represent that a product approved for sale in one country is automatically approved for sale in another.
14. Changes to This Policy
Gotorex may amend this Policy when laws, regulations, marketplace requirements or operational practices change.
The latest version will be published on www.gotorex.com.
